Another place to check out is Ancora. The restaurant has a fantastic waterside location and draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest and other parts of the world. It has a nice selection of wine and uses organic ingredients to create its tasty dishes. And it has a number of awards to its name.
One of the better tasting things to order at the restaurant is their ginger and soy chicken. They serve it with a variety of sauces and a side of rice. For less than $10, you get a good deal.
A newer item on the menu is the Xian lamb soup with bun. Not only is this a light soup, it’s packed with fresh vegetables and smoky lamb slices.
Ambleside Beach
Ambleside Beach is a wonderful beach located on the North Shore of Vancouver. It is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. In addition to the sandy beach, it is also home to an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a playground. During the summer months, the beach is supervised by lifeguards.
Visitors to the beach can also enjoy the beach’s pier. The pier is a great place to watch ships pass by or to catch a glimpse of seals in the water. There are several restaurants on the pier.
Another nearby attraction is the Lone Cone Hike. This hike is about 1.5 km long.
If you’re interested in shopping, you’ll want to check out the Ambleside Beach Village. There are plenty of shops to choose from in this area. You’ll also find a charming farmer’s market on Sundays.
During the spring and summer, you can find a number of festivals and events taking place at Ambleside Beach. Some of these include the Persian New Year Fire Festival, which takes place in mid-March. Also in early August, you can take part in the Harmony Arts Festival.
When you visit Ambleside, you’ll want to make sure you visit the beach during the day. While the water is not as clean as other parts of the Lower Mainland, it is still safe to swim. However, you should always supervise children at all times.
If you’re looking for something more active, you can head to the park. Ambleside Park is a 24-hectare area that offers a variety of recreational facilities.
West End
The West End of Vancouver is one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the city. It is located next to the downtown core and Stanley Park.
A large number of parks surround the area, including the Stanley Park Seawall, which runs from Burrard Bridge to Ceperly Park. Also, a number of community gardens and parks can be found in the area.
The majority of residents in the West End are young, professional people. But there are older families and retired people who call this neighbourhood home.

For shopping, there are several high-end retail stores along Robson Street, Alberni Street, and Davie Street. You can also find boutique fashion stores and gay bars in the Davie Village.
The West End of Vancouver was originally a forested wilderness. However, the arrival of railways in the early 1900s spurred development. As a result, the community has changed dramatically.
In addition to its high-rise housing, the neighbourhood has numerous low-rise buildings and renovated historic homes. These homes have been converted into multi-unit dwellings.
Most planners support compact, mixed-use development. Besides its upscale retail shops, the area is home to the oldest health facility in the city, St. Paul’s Hospital.
The neighborhood is surrounded by several world-class parks, including Stanley Park. There are also beaches in the area.

Rotary clubs
There are a number of Rotary clubs in the Vancouver area. The West Vancouver Sunrise club meets on Thursday mornings at 7:15 am at the Capilano Golf and Country Club. This is the largest club in the province, with a membership of over 100.
In the spirit of service, the club hosts a number of community events. One of the most notable is the Rotary Ride for Rescue. It is a road bike race around the local community that raises money for local non-profits like North Shore Search and Rescue. At the end of the day, the organizers hope to have raised over $100 in pledges.
Another fun frolic is the Port Moody Ribfest, a barbecue themed community event that raises funds for international charities. For the first time, four Rotary clubs will be joining forces to stage the show.
The club also runs a number of other fun & fancy events throughout the year. The North Vancouver Canada Day Celebrations are held at Waterfront Park on July 1.
