Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club
Located on Southwest Marine Drive in Vancouver, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club has long been regarded as one of Canada’s best golf courses. Originally founded in 1911, the course was relocated to its current location in 1960 and was redesigned by the distinguished golf architect A.V. Macan, making it an attractive test for all levels of players.
The course is framed by picturesque trees and offers postcard-worthy views of the Fraser River. The course features a variety of interesting holes, from the front nine to the back nine. The course is challenging and rewarding, and it’s a favorite among professional players.
For many years, the course has hosted professional tournaments, including four Canadian Opens, and it’s now on a serious bid for the Presidents Cup in 2023. But for the time being, the club is focused on the daily operation of the course.
Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club is a private golf club with strict rules. Outside guests may not play unless they are members.
There are a number of amenities to enjoy at the club, such as a tennis program, a fitness center, and a range. There is also a restaurant, the White Spot.
Another nice feature is the first hole, which has a false front style bunker on the right side of the fairway that helps to add some protection from tee shots. The green also slopes away from the player, so it is important to hit your tee shot straight and short.
The club is also a great place to host a business meeting or a party, and there are several private rooms available for booking. However, if you would like to use a private room for non-business purposes, such as a wedding reception, contact the General Manager.

Quesnel Golf Club
