Food Safety for Family Day Care Providers Online Course

Food Safety for Family Day Care Providers is a 4-week long online mini-course designed for child care providers, since young children are especially vulnerable to foodborne illness. Students have access to the course 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our participants indicated that it took an average of 8 hours to complete the course over a period of 4 weeks.

Funded by Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, this course teaches important food safety information and skills for the safe feeding and care of young children in diverse day care settings. It has been approved for 2 hours toward the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education/CACFP 6-hour training requirement. Participants completing the course will receive a certificate from University of Massachusetts Amherst documenting 8 hours of training.
